Rainwater
Harvesting

In 2009, we started the Annual Rain Harvesting programme in one of our farmer group areas where there was shortage of ground water during the summer season. This was a very successful programme and the farmers in the region, who were growing a single crop every year were able to grow two crops, which led to double the income for the farmers.

Waterbody
Restoration

We have initiated this activity in a few farmer group areas. We engage with the local civil and government bodies to get the village lakes and ponds de-silted.

Social Welfare

As part of our Social Welfare programme, we support a lot of un-aided schools in and around our farmer group areas. We conduct joint programmes with our clients and distribute school books, uniforms, infrastructure facilities, etc.

Non-Discrimination
Policy

We have a strict policy against any kind of discrimination among our farmers and workers. We do not discriminate against gender, caste, creed or colour and do not encourage it anywhere across our supply chain.

Wild Collection Plantation

We have worked to convert many species of plants from wild collection to cultivation. This activity was adopted to ensure a sustainable method of harvesting and collection of these wild plants.

Bark
Regeneration

We have initiated the study of regeneration of different bark species that we harvest to ensure that we never over harvest from a single tree. Over the years, we have collected enough data to understand the period of regeneration for various species of trees and always ensure that our farmers harvest these sustainably.

Annual Tree Plantation

We started an Annual Tree Plantation programme in 2007 in one of our farmer group regions. It was a 5 year programme, where every year, we would plant saplings of 108 endangered, red listed species to help conserve them and improve the bio diversity. We have successfully completed this project and have also taken up re-planting activities, wherever the species didn’t survive.
